CMNtv Art & Apples Festival 2011
The 46th annual Art & Apples Festival took place in Rochester Municipal Park during the second weekend in September. An estimated 200,000 visitors enjoyed artwork from over 290 artists. The festival is the main fundraiser for the Paint Creek Center for the Arts, located in downtown Rochester. Visit www.pccart.org for more information about the center.

In its 14th year Arts, Beats & Eats invaded downtown Royal Oak over Labor Day Weekend. 160 artists were on hand, as well as 68 food vendors and 210 bands performed on 11 stages.

On August 14th, 2011, over 350 classic cars lined Walnut Street in downtown Rochester for the 12th Annual Rockin' Rods car show. Organized by the Rochester Lions Club, the annual event raises money for Leader Dogs for the Blind.

The Royal Oak Historical Society is commemorating the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War with an exhibit featuring Abraham Lincoln memorabilia. The Lincoln collection comes from the family of former Royal Oak Mayor George A. Dondero and will be on display until the end of October 2011. Residents of Rochester were invited to celebrate the area's history during a two-day festival known as Heritage Days. Rochester Municipal Park provided the scenic setting for Civil War Re-enactments, demonstrations, arts & crafts, activities and more. The Rochester Lions Club hosted a classic car show in conjunction with the festival.
CMNtv Rochester Community Outlook Luncheon 2011
On February 22, the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Community Outlook Luncheon on the campus of Oakland University. Prior to the luncheon several speakers made major announcements at a press conference. Then Rochester Mayor Jeffrey Cuthbertson, Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett and Oakland Township Manager Jim Creech gave presentations on the state of his respective municipality.

At a press conference at the North American International Auto Show it was announced that the Detroit Auto Dealers Association’s Education Foundation will continue to partner with the Michigan Secretary of State’s Office to support the Courageous Persuaders Program. ;Newly-elected Secretary of State Ruth Johnson was on hand to endorse the annual event that encourages high school students to create a 30-second TV spot warning middle school students about the dangers of underage drinking.
